Hello, as the topic says I am new to the setup and useof a dkp system. I really like the features of the dkplp and need some help setting it up.
We are wanting to do the following:(everquest II)
T8 raids over all will be worth x amount of points
T8 fabled will be set at x amount, legendary will be worth x amount of points and masters will be worth x amount of points.
Then the same for T7 raids and gear.
If a person leaves early or joins late we want to be able to just type in to chat *name join/left -dkp
Can anyone help?

It's a bit tricky as it's formulated at the moment. The first two can be done. The third one is a bit harder as the only individual modification allowed is through assigning loot.
I might have misunderstood parts of how the system works. I'm assuming that everyone are given an initial amount of DKP, deducted a custom amount of DKP when leaving early and that everyone present when a loot item drops recieve a reward based on the quality of the item.
The system could be modeled in the following way:
- Use the high participation bonus to give anyone who has participated (threshold 0%) the base number of DKP.
- Use the event pattern and format to match loot items of various quality being looted or announced. Assign DKP values according to the quality.
- Use the loot pattern to match the command issued when someone leaves and assign a loot item (e.g. named "left early") costing the specified number of DKP.
That should be a decent fit, depending on the details of your DKP system (e.g. do people who leave early get points for an item that drops after they leave? are people deducted DKP when they loot an item?).
The model requires some non-trivial modifications of the pattern and formats. If you do not know anyone that knows regexp then I can help you with them, provided that you send/post a log containing all situations (i.e. all possible loot qualities and whatever presence tracking messages you intend to use along with commands issued when someone leaves early).

to be honest the only thing i have working so far is this:
\((\d+)\)\[.*?\] (?:You loot|(\w+) loots) \\aITEM -?\d+ -?\d+ .*?)\\/a (?:from|from the) (?:Exquisite|Ornate) Chest.*
0|0|0|0|0|$1|$2!CharacterName|$3|0
and thats only because it was taken from another post lol. This whole DKP is new to me and a new system to the guild.
All we are looking for really is t8 raids to be worth say over all 25 points. Fabled will be bought for say 15 points, legendary will be 10 points and then masters will be 5 points.
Then we still do t7 raids so we would like differant values for that tier.
We are not going to have a bidding system. Raids are usually 3 hours long or so so anyone leaving early would only get the amount of points he was there for or coming late would share in the remaining points.
So ya I have no idea how to set that up

So let me get this straight. There are exactly three DKP modifications possible.
- Anyone that attends any part of the raid recieves 25 DKP.
- The person looting an item is deducted a number of DKP corresponding to the quality.
- A person leaving early is fined with a custom amount of DKP.
Please tell me if I misunderstood any part. I initially thought you wanted to reward everyone with a fixed number of points when a loot item dropped.
The above requires the 0% threshold bonus, normal loot tracking and custom commands for the fine. It will be somewhat tricky since you have to combine the fine and the loot command in one pattern. You will have to give me samples of a log where loot items of different qualities are looted and where the command to fine a person is given in order for me to be able to help you with that part.
Also note that with the above model people leaving early will basically be assigned a non-existing item in EQDKP to represent the fine, not an individual adjustment.

Ok here is a copy of my log from the raid.
The command I used when a player left early was *name left early
if it need to be changed to something else go ahead Ill adapt to it.
then we also had loot that we lotted on tonight using the in game lotto button. those are not pulling up on the loot tab, I am not sure why.
here is a example of that:
Gresian wins the lotto for \aITEM 1266493671 1824267190:Armguards of Dread\/a from the Exquisite Chest of Vilucidae the Priest of Thule.
(1200018359)[Thu Jan 10 20:25:59 2008] Gresian looted the Fabled \aITEM 1266493671 1824267190:Armguards of Dread\/a.
also above is a fabled drop
below is a Legendary:
Surish wins the lotto for \aITEM -1530641834 1200557888:Sinew Wrapped Longbow\/a from the Ornate Chest of Gnillaw the Demented.
Surish looted the Legendary \aITEM -1530641834 1200557888:Sinew Wrapped Longbow\/a.
And a master:
Gresian wins the lotto for \aITEM 1175903180 -80737355:Terrible Deeds (Master I)\/a from the Exquisite Chest of Essence of Fear.
(1200016410)[Thu Jan 10 19:53:30 2008] Gresian looted the Fabled \aITEM 1175903180 -80737355:Terrible Deeds (Master I)\/a.
Also one interesting thing on the suspected errors tab it says boots of terror has been bought by CharacterName, who is not in the member list.
I was the one that won those and my name is on the member list so not sure why it syas that.
So again we want the raid to be a set amount of points. Those that stay for the entire raid get full points. If you leave early points are deducted. If you join late you are awarded partial points.
Each tier of loot as posted are worth differant amounts that are deducted from the winner.

The part about also fining people for being late changes things a bit.
I have attached a configuration that should be close to what you want. You will however have to use begin and end commands to mark the beginning and end of the raid. I have configured it so that you do that by saying "*begin" and "*end" in your group channel (as that was how you used the other commands in the log).
You will also need to use two commands for late arrivals and early departures. When someone leaves you have to say "*foo left early" (as in your example), and when someone joins late you have to say "*foo joined late". That only takes care of the timekeeping. To add the fine you have to use an additional command, which is currently configured to be used as "*fine foo 10" (fines player foo 10 DKP). The fine is independent of whether the player has been marked as leaving early or not (so it can also be used for other situations).
The loot can not automatically be assigned a tiered cost without using a preprocessor, I forgot about that limitation earlier. The loot is currently being filtered so that only fabeled and legendary items are included. The program will however remember what cost you assign to an item, so you only have to price each item once (according to its tier).

thank you very much for this!
My only issue is, and I know its me not setting something up right is when I upload the day I get two raids listed:
The Lyceum of Abhorrence worth 0.00
The Lyceum of Abhorrence - High participation bonus worth 25.00
the raid worth 0 points actually has the loot items listed in it and the values i assigned, the HPB raid has no drops listed.
can you tell me how to get rid of the double raids? or des it have to be like this?

You can try unchecking the "upload reward intervals with reward equal to zero" checkbox. I can not remember for certain whether it will work in this case, but it's worth a try.
