The server hosting the subversion repository will be coming down sometime today (i.e. as soon as I get the time) for hardware upgrades. It should hopefully be up and running by midnight or early morning UTC.

The server is back up, hardware change unsuccessful - I'm going to sulk a bit in the corner while repeating that s-ata has nothing to do with ata. I guess I have never been much of a hardware person.
Expect another downtime in a week or two. |

Is the svn server down or is the machine itself out for some upgrades? I haven't been able to connect for a couple of days... |

It was down during the night while I tried to sort out tomcat and scarab (still no luck, I don't have any previous knowledge with java servers so I will expect that it will be a while). It should be up again now. |

The server is going down again 29/8 early UTC. It should not be down more than a day. dkplp.org, the issue tracker, wiki and subversion repository will all be affected by the downtime. |

The upgrade was delayed a bit by releasing 1.4.0a. The hardware upgrades went well, but setting up the software will at least take until tomorrow. |

So... the reinstallation didn't go exactly as I wanted it, but it's good enough to put the server back in action and have a short downtime at some point to fix final details. I was planning to restore most of the server's contents from the latest backup, but it seems to only be a partial backup. I'm not really sure what went wrong, but it only copied parts of the file system. Needless to say I'm not very happy at the moment.
*edit* Ignore from here *edit*
The good news is that the backup contains the database (issues, wiki), the (really) bad news is that it does not contain the subversion repository. The last remaining backup containing it was back in july, but the trunk prior to the server going down is intact. So it should be possible to repair most things (it might take some time though) but a couple of months of historical data is lost.
*edit* Ignore to here *edit*
I did indeed make a huge mistake by not checking the backups sooner, and it could have been far worse.
*edit*
Silly me. I forgot that the harddrive was changed. The old harddrive still has all the contents on it, so I will just reinsert it and make a proper backup. So nothing is lost except a bit of time. It was good to find out about the backup problem though, |

Even though you said 'ignore from here', I still read it and gave myself a minor heartattack. Glad to hear you've got a spare backup still! Phew! |

The subversion repository (fully restored) and the wiki are back up and running, the issue tracker will have to wait until tomorrow. |
