[edit]
How it works
The base prinicple of the model is that the DKP that comes in to the system should always be as close as possible to the DKP that goes out of the system. The model is usually followed by making it so that the DKP that is awarded is equal to the DKP that is spent.

Example
A simple example of how a zero-sum system can handle purchases.
[edit]
The initial state
A: 100 DKP B: -50 DKP C: -50 DKP System total: 0 DKP
[edit]
Purchase
A and B participate in a raid where A buys an item for the price of 100 DKP. The points awarded for the raid are calculted by taking the points spent divided by the number of participants. Person A is subtracted 100 DKP for the purchase and person A and B are awarded 50 DKP each for participating.
A: 50 DKP B: 0 DKP C: -50 DKP System total: 0 DKP
